Our guide will welcome you at the airport and take you to the hotel in the heart of the city. We will have a tour briefing at the hotel in the afternoon (the time will be announced later). The rest of the day is at your leisure. Overnight in Hanoi.

Suggestions for early risers: around 5:30 – 6:00 AM, if you are the early risers, you may want to walk around Hoan Kiem Lake (the Sword Returned Lake) and see the local people doing tai chi, dance (tango, cha cha cha, etc in big groups), jogging, running, and all other types of morning exercise. Or you just simply sit on one of the many stone benches by the lake and witness the beauty of tranquil morning lake before many visitors come. The circuit of the lake is 1,800m long. You can do your exercise, too, before your breakfast.
At 10 a.m., we will start the walking tour through Hang Gai and Hang Duong Street before we reach Dong Xuan Market (The traditional market in Hanoi with more than 1,700 owners inside, selling all kinds of products you may not have seen before). Then we walk through several small streets on the way to the lake area to visit Ngoc Son Temple. Different places to stop for food, and coffee will be on the way. The 30 minute electric car trip touring the old quarter of Hanoi can be another good experience for your day. Time for a 50 minute water puppet show to end your day Overnight in Hanoi.
DAY 3 (THURSDAY, 21 SEPT 2023): HANOI CITY TOUR – VIET TRI CITY (B/L/D)

At 8:00 a.m., you will explore the city with our guide today. The places you will visit include Tran Quoc Pagoda, West Lake, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his home on stilts, and One Pillar Pagoda. Then will visit the Vietnam Ethnology Museum where you can see the images of the 54 ethnic minorities in Vietnam. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will drive about 90 minutes to Viet Tri. Welcome dinner. Overnight in Viet Tri City.
DAY 4 (FRIDAY, 22 SEPT 2023): VIET TRI – LAO CAI – BORDER - SAPA (B/L)

8 a.m., we will drive about 3 hours to Lao Cai City. You will see beautiful landscape, villages, and mountains on the way. Upon arrival in Lao Cai, we will visit the border between Vietnam and China before having lunch at a local restaurant. Afterward, we will drive about 60 minutes to Sapa Town. Upon arrival in Sapa, we will transfer to a smaller bus to visit Lao Chai and Ta Van. We will visit the old stones (the museum is closed at 5 pm). Overnight in Sapa.
Note: Since big buses are not allowed to go to the town, we will transfer to smaller buses to continue our day. The hotel will send a minibus to pick up our luggage. You will see the luggage when we go to the hotel. We will be back to our big bus after exploring Sapa.

Suggestions for early risers:
You may want to get up early (around 6 am) to take photos of the mountains. When it is clear enough, you can see Fansipan Mount from your hotel. Also, you may want to walk to the lake which is in the center of the town.
After breakfast (around 9:30 to avoid the crowd), we will meet at the hotel lobby to walk to Sapa Plaza for a mountain train ride to see the roof of Indochina (Fansipan Mount - 3,143m) before enjoying the amazing cable car system. In order to go to the top, you will have to climb about 600 steps in between the mountain train stations, cable car stations, temples, pagodas, statues, and amazing view from the top of the mountain. It is always cold and sometimes rains there (but rarely below freezing even in the winter, though), so do bring a warm jacket and a poncho/umbrella with you. Enjoy your buffet lunch today. After the cable car, at your leisure the rest of the day. Overnight in Sapa.

7:30 a.m., we will drive about 2.5 hours this morning to visit Bac Ha Hill Tribe Market – possibly the best hill tribe market in Southeast Asia. Most people come to the market on Sunday morning because it is the main market meeting time. Many ethnic minorities (such as, Flower H’Mong, Tay, Day, Dao, Kinh) come to this place to sell and/or buy local and foreign products. The domestic animal section of the market often draws many photographers. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will drive back to Viet Tri City in Phu Tho Province. At your leisure the rest of the day. Overnight in Viet Tri.
DAY 7 (MONDAY, 25 SEPT): VIET TRI CITY – MAI CHAU VALLEY (B/L)

After breakfast (8:30 a.m.), we will drive to Mai Chau. The trip is about 3.5 hours. We will drive through many towns, villages, rice fields, cassava hills/fields, corn fields, and orchards. Lunch at a local restaurant in Pom Coong Village. In the mid-afternoon (around 3 p.m.), we will do a biking tour for 2 hours or so. For those who do not want to bike or walk through rice fields and villages, you may want to hire an electric car from the hotel to visit those mentioned places. The cost for an electric car which can carry up to 6 people is about $14 for a trip of 2 hours or so (price can vary depending on the season). At leisure the rest of the day. Overnight in Mai Chau.
DAY 8 (TUESDAY, 26 SEPT): MAI CHAU - RELAXING (B)

At 8 a.m., we will drive about 3 hours to Ninh Binh Province where we will visit Bai Dinh Pagoda (the biggest Buddhist Pagoda complex in Southeast Asia) and Trang An (a setting place for the famous movie: King Kong – the Skull Island episode). After lunch at a local restaurant, we will be on a 2-hour sampan to explore Trang An (considered Halong Bay on land) which is the highlight of your day. Then, we will drive about 80 minutes (about 60 km) to Thai Binh City for the night. Welcome dinner today.

DAY 10 (THURSDAY, 28 SEPT): THAI BINH – HALONG BAY (B/L/D)

9 a.m., we will drive about 2.5 hours to Halong Bay - one of the 7 World Wonders of nature (also a UNESCO site). On the way to Halong Bay, you will see the life of the people in the Red River delta. We will also visit a pearl store which represents traditional products made in Vietnam. This is also a rest area for toilet or just for a break while someone may want a cup of coffee. Upon arrival at the wharf, we will transfer to a junk for a cruise in Halong Bay with a delicious local seafood lunch awaiting you. The cruise passes by many gorgeous rocks and islets with beautiful shapes where your camera will need to focus on. Enjoy the view of the bay from the cruise sundeck or from your cabin windows. After dinner, enjoy fishing for fun. Overnight on board.
DAY 11 (FRIDAY, 29 SEPT.): HALONG BAY – Airport and fly to DONG HOI CITY (B/L)

After your little breakfast, you will continue cruising to see more of the beauty of the bay before returning to the wharf. Your brunch starts around 9:30 A.M., and you finish your last meal on board before disembarking around 11 A.M. We will drive 3 hours or so to the airport in Hanoi for your short flight to Dong Hoi City. Upon arrival we will be welcome and taken to a hotel in the center of the city. Overnight in Dong Hoi.
DAY 12 (Sat, 30 Sept 2023): DONG HOI – VISITING CAVES (B/L)

After breakfast at 8 am, we will drive about 90 minutes to see Paradise Cave (31km long) which is one of the most beautiful caves in the world. This cave is also one of the longest caves in Asia. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will visit Phong Nha Cave - another amazing place to visit for the day. We will drive back to the hotel in late afternoon. Overnight in Dong Hoi.
Driving distance: 140 km. Time of driving: 4 hours
Walking distance: About 600 steps and 500m hike on a nice steep path to visit Paradise Cave. There will be a few hundred steps to explore Phong Nha Cave. moderate walking.

Most of the day, we will be on National Highway No 1. The first place we will visit today is Vinh Moc Tunnels – amazing tunnels built by the northern soldiers to penetrate into the Southern Vietnam before witnessing the DMZ where Ben Hai River was the border between the North of Vietnam and South of Vietnam. Our lunch will be at a local restaurant in Dong Ha City in Quang Tri Province. Then, we continue our journey to Danang via Hai Van Pass. Welcome dinner in Danang. Overnight in Danang.

At 8 a.m., we will leave the hotel for a day trip to visit Bana Hills. This special place offers tourists an amazing cable car system (which currently holds many world records), amusement park, flower garden, French architecture village with a wine cellar, and recently the famous Golden Bridge. We will have a buffet lunch in Bana Hills today. Back to the hotel for the night. Overnight in Danang.
DAY 16 (WED., 4): HOI AN ½ DAY CITY TOUR AND ½ DAY MOTORBIKE TOUR (B/L)

After ½ day of the old quarter of Hoi An, we will have lunch at a local restaurant before touring the greater Hoi An on motorbikes with qualified drivers who give you the real insight of the local life. We ride over a bridge to Cam Kim Island and along the riverside into the beautiful rural countryside. You will have an opportunity to learn how local families weave mats, make basket boat, and prepare perfect Banh Dap (a type of rice crackers). Meeting local families is a must-do to see the real way of life in Vietnam. Then, we visit a local café and learn the art of coffee roasting with a taste of a cup of coffee here. We will make our way to the coast at the mouth of Thu Bon River before joining a basket boat for 30 minutes or so to feel what is like in a basket boat. Then we drive back to the hotel. DAY 18 (FRIDAY, 6 OCT): HOI AN – FLY TO HCMC – ½ DAY WALKING TOUR (B/L)

In the morning, we will fly to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC). After lunch and check into your hotel, we will have a half day walking tour of the center of the city.
Why walking tour today?
The best way to really explore the center of HCMC should be the walking tour because you can stop, look, feel, take photos, and perhaps talk to local people. Busses can’t go to all places, and it takes time to wait, get on and off the bus too. Also, we can partly reduce the cost of not using a vehicle today. We together help reduce the pollution, though.
The places we will visit include: Ben Thanh Market (which is close at 5 pm), the Independence Palace (see from outside), the North Dame Cathedral and the Post Office, the famous Nguyen Hue Boulevard, the Opera House, . Of course, on the way, we will see more of the historical sites which were so important for the southern government of Vietnam before 1975.
For those who want to explore more of the city today, visiting Bitexco Financial Tower (once the tallest building in Vietnam) can be fun. This building is just 1.1 km from our hotel (about 15 minutes on foot). After we walk back to the hotel (65 Nguyen Thanh Binh Street) from our walking tour, if anyone would like to go to the 51 -52th floor of the Bitexco Financial Tower to have a cup of coffee (or any other kind of drink to your wish) and, of course, to see the beauty of HCMC and Saigon River, our guide will walk with you there too. You will need to pay for your own drinks here (so that you can go to see the view of the city). If you just want to see the view of the city, you will have to go to a 49th floor and buy an entrance ticket which is even more expensive than a cup of coffee (or a drink) which is around $10 (if not more). DAY 19 (SAT, 7 OCT): HCMC – MEKONG DELTA (BEN TRE) – CAN THO (B/L/D)

After breakfast, we leave the busy city of Saigon behind and head out to the untouched areas of Ben Tre Province. Board a cruise to explore the rivers, canals, orchards and see local people making coconut candies and witnessing their daily lives. Lunch at a local restaurant. Then we will drive about 2 hours and a half (126 km) to Can Tho City (the capital of the Mekong Delta). After checking into your hotel and have some rest, we will have a Farewell dinner party on a cruise in Mekong River. Overnight in Can Tho.

We will get up early this morning (around 5 a.m.) for a boat trip to visit the floating market of Cai Rang. This floating market is an amazing place in the Mekong Delta to sell and buy agriculture products - all on boats. After this early morning trip, we will go back to the hotel for your breakfast. Then, we will visit a Bảy Bon Fish Farm to see how the farmers raise their fish in the Mekong River.
After checking out of the hotel and lunch at a local restaurant, we will go to the airport for your flight back to Hanoi. Upon arrival at the airport in Hanoi, you will be taken to the hotel in the center of the city. Overnight in Hanoi
